DayZee: The Missing Files

DayZee went missing for over 6 months. It took a great amount of thinking and effort to locate DayZee.

I located DayZee at farm in San Diego County.

She seemed happy to be running free in a multi-acred farm.

She played in mud.

She sat on soft and warm indoor surroundings.

She even had her own Dog bed.

She loved to run in the meadow in the farms.

She looked out for danger.

She hunted from foxes.

She even had the red-eye digitally taken out of her (poorly).

Sometimes she would try to use the internet so she can find her way home via google maps, but she was too short to reach the keyboard.

She gave up played in the mud instead.

But I finally came to rescue her after being apart for more than 2 years.

She lept into my arms as I wept in joy.

She introduced me to her friend Solo. I almost took him home too.

DayZee(11/1998 to 11/2011)

It was in November 1998 when I first saw this puppy in a park in Northridge. The breeders, called her Zing; because she was from the "Z" batch of puppies, and a runty one at that. I took a look at her and thought to myself, "well, she's not a JRT like I originally wanted, and she's got a funny appearance, but okay, i'll take her." I watched Zing run around the park and picked her up, bound for home and renamed her DayZee.

After couple of years of frustration with difficult DayZee, she got loose and ran the streets of Melrose. I sprang into action and started a search party. I found her roaming the streets of Melrose 4 hours later. It was then when I fully realized how much I loved her.

Through the years, she has been my loyal companion, stalwart best friend, and a source of unconditional love. She has experienced with me the ending of a 14 year relationship, the death of a partner, my stint with the U.S. Navy, and numerous other life changing events. Her death will definitely change my life.

In the past year, her health has progressively declined. Sometime on Friday, November 25, 2011 she fell into a sort of coma. After rushing her to the emergency animal hospital, she died in the arms of loved ones with the doctor giving her oxygen.

I will miss you, my dear DayZee.

"Those aren't blue!"

..but I'll take them anyways...

Escape!

During the trip to the vet, hunny bunny says, John, dear...  Darling I think
I heard a tire pop."

So we leave them alone for a second to check for a flat tire.

Suddenly we hear the doors lock and engine revving up.
